of robbery to the deft. Chui "sang Yui 1st deft. and I

was satisfied he understood the charge. I then cautione d

him according to set form printed on statement in answer

to charge.

elected to make a statement in Chinese which I took down

word for word in Chinese. I read over statement to him

and he said it was correct and signed his name thereon.

The statement is now produced (Exh.I). It reads: "I

did not hold a gun. I am not willing to do. Tong Nei

asked me to do". At 12.15 hrs. on 20/2/46 I read over

charge A to ?nd deft. Chong Tong Nei. Satis fied he under-

stood the charge. I cautioned him according to the set

form printed on statement in answer to charge.

understood the caution. He elected to make a statement in

Chinese which I took down word for word in Chinese. I

read statement to him and he said it was correct and signed

his name the reon. The statement is now produced (Exh.K).

It reads: "This gun is not mine. My friend bought it".
